Who does SuperSavvy’s research?

All of the ratings and analysis on the SuperSavvy website is conducted by the researchers at Savvy’s parent company, SuperRatings. SuperRatings is Australia’s first and most respected super research company. The SuperRatings founders appear regularly in financial media and their opinions are valued by journalists, commentators and fund managers. The super fund managers and advisers rely on SuperRatings analysis and findings to benchmark their fund’s performance. Nobody does more research than SuperRatings. Nobody researches as thoroughly as SuperRatings.

How current is the research?

You can’t make smart investment decisions with out of date data. Most SuperRatings research is refreshed continuously in close to real time. The Latest Returns figures are compiled and released monthly, just 3 weeks after the close of each month.

How are the monthly returns calculated?

These are based on the returns of a selection of fund products in 11 different investment option types, from High Growth options to conservative Cash options. The SR50 Index and SR25 Index are the median returns of the largest 50 and 25 funds that SuperRatings review in each option type. Whilst past performance is no guarantee of future performance, these indices are a good guide to the actual return of the 'average' fund over the same time frames.

How impartial is the advice?

SuperSavvy – just like SuperRatings – is fiercely independent. We will never compromise our reputation for honesty. If we see a fund or an investment product that isn’t up to scratch, we won’t dress it up to look better than it is. Our adviser does not receive commissions from recommending products to our members. You can be assured that our advice is generated from SuperRatings research and analysis.
